Poetry Sunday~ The Walk

Matt. 5: 17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
***
The Walk
***
He comes,
a lowly rider beneath;
people gather to feel
his presence.

He reigns
a moment in time.
His glory will cling
to mankind.

Showers of
palm leaves
laid before him
to praise his name.

He bows
his head in humility
for all the world
to behold.

He carries
the burden of sin
on his shoulder;
he wept.

He hangs;
prophecy fulfilled.
His life shortened
by duty.

He loves
you and I
enough
to rise again.

***

Matt.21: 8 And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way.

Good one for Palm Sunday, Joni!

I love the repetation of:
He comes...
He reigns...
He bows....,etc., with the story between.

Excellent!

Take care,
June

You know, if you thought I got all weird and spiritual during the year, this week is totally MY week of embracing the Holy.

I don't celebrate the New Year on January 1st, I celebrate it on Easter Sunday.

If He can rise on that day, I can rise to the occasion and rejoice in celebrating a NEW YEAR. :)
