What if I live
what if I die
what if I tell
you all
the times that I cry?
What if I...
What if I...
What if I die.

What if I share
what if I dare
what if I care
enough
to tell you stuff,
what if I...
what if I...
What if I dare?

What if I give
what if I lie
what if I say
I love
more than I do.
what if I...
what if I...
what if I lie.

What if I live
what if I give
what if I share
it all and try
not to cry
What if I...
What if I...
What if I DIE?

I'm not a big fan of poetry, but I really like this. I really like the cadence of it and the feelings it provokes. Very nice!

Thanks Ro.
I'm a big poetry fan :) And my head just isn't with it this week.
This is why dark poetry lightens me, it allows me to get it off my chest and release it to the world so I can move on.
After the accident, I wondered...If I died...would anyone notice?
And throughout the week, my writing community has lifted me high, and I am so grateful for being a writer.

Thanks for commenting on a subject you don't even care for. lol

Of course we would notice if you died. And I commented because I care about you. Doesn't matter if I care about poetry :)

Then it's official, YOU are a WRITER! :)

Love the lyrical, rhymetic quality of this piece, Joni.

I'm guessing that much of what this is (the emotional part) came about from the after math of your accident....

That seems to be the way it works. :)

Take care,
June

Yes June, it did have me thinking about "What if I died" and came from a deep dark abyss that only us writer's know. :)

It's a shame all my fiction comes from my reality because I can really draw from that dark place loads of words. :)

DEB!

Great to see you here! And I think it is just the season for contemplation or something. *shrugs*

Only one way to go and that is UP! :)
