Poetry Sunday ~ A Beacon of Hope

Job 8:13 So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hypocrite's hope shall perish:
Job 27:8 For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul?

A Beacon of Hope
*  *  *
A beacon of strength she rose,
above the ashes of their deeds.
A light to all who knew,
her glorious wondrous deeds.

To think they clawed and gnashed
dug and bled her dry.
She can’t be swayed by sorrow
with your somber woeful cry.

Above her rides commotion
in the parting of the seas.
Hypocrites will falter
and drop down to their knees.

Why are they so jealous
of a streaming brilliant light?
The answer calls out to them
at the headstones of the night.

You’re weak all you heathens
who taint and destroy her name
The message heard in heaven
is you lost your lifeless game.

A beacon of strength she rises
above the burning of their deeds.
He alone can judge her
through all her planted seeds.

Pss.43:5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

Pss. 71:5 For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth.

Her lamp is full of oil and shines bright, lighting a brilliant path for those who adore her to follow.

Turn you eyes upon Jesus,
Look full on His wonderful face.
And the things of earth
will grow strangely dim
in the light of His glory and grace.
