Poetry Sunday ~ Hosanna! Hosanna!

Matt. 28: 19 - 20 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Hosanna! Hosanna!
***
He gave life to the dead, cleansed the impure
healed the sick, became all lepers cure.
Fed the hungry, gave sight to the blind,
revealed the innocence of a child’s mind.

If you were thirsty, He gave you to drink,
Washed away sins with nary a blink;
Of His eyes we shined while light was dim
righteousness filled our cup to the brim.

Turn your cheek from the one that maims
seventy times if you burn with flames
Forgive, forget, move on I say
I’m reaching out to show you the way.

Disciples slept, while Jesus pleaded
to let him live unless he was needed.
Crying out He returned to die
while all looked on, not batting an eye.

They rejoiced and sang; praised his name
Hosanna! Hosanna! Into town he came.
Fronds of palms were laid at his feet.
All glory to Jesus our Savior we greet.

But lo and behold this man betrayed,
was scourged and beat but never swayed!
“My Father, My Father why have you forgot,
I gave them all that you said they’d have not.”

With one last breath he gave up the ghost,
shedding blood where man needed it most.
Our sins forgiven our God came as man
In a wondrous fete generations will span.

Will we remember the sacrifice made?
Can we ever honor the price that was paid?
Do we respect all things that He taught
our souls are free for sins his death bought.

My Glorious redeemer, Savior and King,
I bow with honor my soul shall sing.

Something Wicked this way Comes

Genesis 1:4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

Something Wicked this way Comes...

Just so you know, I write spiritual stuff. I embrace the light and everything that means to you and me. I try my darnedest to walk in an upright manner sharing and giving love where it might lack. But as for my writing, now that’s a totally different story. (Pardon the pun.)

Most of the time when I’m writing a short story, I start off with my heroine as this upstanding epitome of the highest perfection, then as I’m sitting there writing, something takes over my character and things start to happen. It is as if she has been overcome by the dark force and then my story heads down a path of unknown.

A discussion began in the f2k class when a woman asked if she was the only one where her ‘people’ seem to take charge and the story basically writes itself or is written by these people (aka characters.) Many of us writers piped in to assure her that not only do our characters claim full reign but that what we had intended on the story being took a turn somewhere along the line and we came up with something utterly different than what we proposed the story line to be about.

I’m wondering if this ghost that takes over is our conscious turning off the internal editor. You see, we all write with the internal editor on. We backtrack every paragraph, we spellcheck a page, we’re constantly checking for consistencies and inconsistencies. With that mind, remember, you lose something along the way. You’re so worried about everything being right, you miss the point of where you went wrong.

As writers we can not try so hard that we lose sight of the story. I’m telling you, when you try to write a story, when you try to get it perfect, when you keep trying so hard to make everything right, it is at this point that you’ve lost the basis of your story. You’ve allowed the characters to quiet down and hide in the shadows. You have essentially put tape over their mouth’s and you, the writer creator of the work, has taken over to make your work perfect.

Guess what? Nobody is perfect! I bet that was enlightening wasn’t it? You need to put tape over your brain! ha ha. Turn the internal editor off. Don’t tell me, but, but, but it is too hard. Tell me, okay I will and see what kind of story you write. You’re characters will come out of the shadows, they will become people who are shaped by your fingers but their conscious. They will carry an air of mystery with them as good verses evil challenge each other to a duel. The characters will become people, no longer cardboard cut-outs. Living breathing entities.

In essence, something wicked this way comes.

Ghost Stories

1 Cor. 2: 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

Okay, Dayana Knight opened a can of words for me (as opposed to can of worms?) She was writing/blogging about Ghost Stories and as the paranormal freak that I am, I just had to read her blog and tell just one itsy bitsy story of my own.

Can you believe that there are some folks who’ve never had a paranormal experience in their entire life? Well that’s what they claim anyway, I think they are just non-believers and when the paranormal slaps them upside the head, they wouldn’t know it if it jumped out in lightning bolt form shouting, BOO!

As a writer, it is the paranormal genre that keeps me writing. I try to write about non-fiction inspirational tales, but even hidden in those words are the paranormal Holy Ghost. They say Ghost and Spirit numerous times in the Bible and if it means what I think it means, Spiritual happenings even produced by the Holy One, is a paranormal event in Grand Spectrum form.

Paranormal is the realm that we read about, the stories that we talk about, the words that we write about, and apparently the spine-tingling factors behind interest in a Ghost Blog. A Ghost Blog? No friends, this won’t become a Ghost Blog, this is a writing blog and as such, the paranormal is going to come up eventually.

Paranormal is defined by Webster as: ie: of or pertaining to the claimed occurrence of an event or perception without scientific explanation, as psychokinesis, extrasensory perception, or other purportedly supernatural phenomena.

Supernatural phenomena. That is what this crazy world has built up, and released into the cosmos and minds, fertile minds, link onto it; or the spirit world links on to us as they sense we’re an open door to releasing the energy.

I remember when I first got a computer and it (the living entity called a computer) asked me for a SCREEN NAME. I had many, but most were of the nature, IMNOPEN DOOR, MYMINDSEYE, anything that had people wondering, “Where the heck did this thing come from.” haha. I’ve been called weird, quirky, strange and onto the more colorful synonyms, loony, whacky, cuckoo, demented, deranged, but my favorite, TOUCHED.

Ephesians 1: 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

Yes I’m touched. I know by the Grace of God, His hand has touched me and on a level few comprehend.

I came from the realm you wish you knew, want to know, and are afraid to embrace! I am your fantasy, I am your dream but most of all, I am your worst nightmare. But first and foremost... I AM a WRITER! Keep that in mind. *wink*

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
