Your Sin is Not My Sin

Job 2: 10 But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.

Your Sin is Not My Sin

Your sin is not my sin
I cannot weather the load.
If I pry my way into heaven
My sins are the one that’s showed.

The vice is worn around your neck
Do you think each one’s forgiven?
While you go through life committing
And try to keep sins hidden?

God sees a lingering crutch in man
Those things you think not bad
He sees the things you seek forgiveness
And the ones that scorched skin had.

We often try to be our own god,
Thinking we have some power
To carry the load of iniquity within
Never giving the bundle a scour.

Your sin is not my sin
I have my own to bear.
I’ll strive to carry Light
When sin is what you wear.

Job 20:11 His bones are full of the sin of his youth, which shall lie down with him in the dust.

The Spirit is Upon Me

Rom. 1:9 For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;

The Spirit is Upon Me

The Spirit is upon me
It’s not a heavy load
to give Him praise and glory
for all that He has showed.

The Spirit is upon me
I ask what I’m to say.
In truth and love He tells me
to make a brighter day.

The Spirit is upon me
the brilliant beams they reach
to the very core of me
a message for to teach.

The Spirit is upon me
I’m asked not to conform
to a world of darkness
my soul it will transform.

The spirit is upon me
It’s always there for you.
Just ask and He will enter
a guide to get you through.

Rom. 8: 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

Poetry Sunday ~ To Him be the Glory

"I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I set your rules before me."
– Psalm 119:30

To Him be the Glory
***
I walk the path of loneliness
all rocks are gathered round.
I try to move them one by one
my duty earthly bound.

The burden mighty heavy
with each rock I toss aside.
I look around at no one
who is standing by my side.

“Why do you feel so alone,
when I placed within your reach,
ones to help you down the path;
hardy lessons for me to teach.”

“Lord the load is heavy.
I sometimes cannot see,
all the pillars gathered around
to walk the path with me.”

“I feel as if I struggle alone,
can do it all myself.
Hardened is the journey I tread;
people sit by on the shelf.”

“My child, all around you waits
companions to ease the road.
You need to see the well lit path;
you need to share the load!”

“But will I have failed in my job,
for not embracing the task?
I want to give my all to you
and do all that you ask.”

“You’ve given me the best of you
and that is all I need.
Your witness and your testimony;
a mighty strengthened seed.”

“Go now child and let them see
the blessings that I’ve sent.
Your journey far from over,
your light has not been spent.”

“I see them Lord, gathered here;
all from You to me.
We’ll walk the path, never alone
to You give all the Glory!”

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." --Jeremiah 29:11

author’s note: Sometimes we feel so alone on a journey, we never see right in front of our faces the people surrounding us, wanting to share the load. Our prideful selves thinks we can and HAVE to do it alone. You’re never alone as long as you have God, you’ll never see if you don’t open your eyes!!!
