Holy Week ~ In His Glory

Luke 23: 34  Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

~ In His Glory ~
(c) Joni Zipp

I’ll deeply inhale the mornings' breath
walk through the day of your death;
Weep as tears falls from the sky
raise my eyes to ask You why?

Why did you leave us, why let man win
to bury the burden of human sin?
Will we sit idle and watch as you hang
forgetting all the Hosannas we sang?

Will we remember the blood on the cross
as we lust for life forgetting the loss,
can a man walk ‘round with his head held high,
knowing you came if only to die?

Agony washes through my veins
my heart laments for all of your pains.
I don’t pretend as hypocrites do
to immerse in honor every holiday or two.

I walk in the path that is set before me
trying to bathe in all your glory.
You rise to bask in heaven's glow,
and gave to me the right to sow.

I’ll carry your words, I’ll heal my heart
knowing that you will never depart.
Man tries to mask all that you’re seeing
not knowing You’ve leaked into his being!

I drench myself in the beckoning light,
that cradles me through day and night.
I drink from the cup of all your words
that fill my soul like fluttering birds.

My heart weeps red but unlike you
it only seeps my garments through.
Your bloodshed gives to me new birth
a righteous soul unveiled on Earth.

Matt.28: 19-20 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

Poetry Sunday ~ Harvest of Souls

Pss. 29:2 “Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.”

 Harvest of Souls

The time is near, the hour nigh,
Moonbeams droop in a blackened sky
Blazing sun scorches the land
Earth erupts in a quivering stand.

Encircling us is ravaging hate,
Lust and greed sever our fate
I sit and watch as lives unravel,
The boulder of strength now merely gravel.

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust,
Souls bewildered by mistrust
Doubt and fear, they give rise
To muted pleas and mournful cries.

As souls ascend and souls descend,
It is our own that we must mend.
Bringing forth joy, love and peace,
The decorum of beauty will never cease.

Firmly tread as the time is here,
To boldly proclaim, all we revere
The harvest of souls its beckoning plea
It's craving you; devouring me.

Come forth and share your inner beauty
Unleash love as our earthly duty
Reap what you sow, seek and find
Then you my friend, won't be left behind.

Poetry Sunday ~ Soul Harvest

Gen. 8:22 “While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”

Soul Harvest

The time is near, the hour nigh
Moonbeams droop in a blackened sky
Blazing sun scorches the land
Earth erupts in a quivering stand

Encircling us is ravaging hate
Lust and greed severs our fate
I sit and watch as lives unravel
The boulder of strength now merely gravel

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust
Souls bewildered by mistrust
Doubt and fear, they give rise
To muted pleas and mournful cries

As souls ascend and souls descend
It is our own that we must mend
Bringing forth joy, love and peace
The decorum of beauty will never cease

Firmly tread as the time is here
To boldly proclaim, all we revere
The harvest of souls its beckoning plea
It's craving you; devouring me

Come forth and share your wholesome beauty
Unleash love, as is our duty
Reap what you sow, seek and find
Then you my friend, won't be left behind.

Rev. 14:15 “And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.”

I wrote this many years ago and have posted it before but this seems timely to this very day. God Bless you all.

Poetry Sunday ~ Fruition

Some things have to be believed to be seen. ~Ralph Hodgson
***
Fruition
***

Winds of time have swept the fields
in stardust frivolous play.
Green and amber sweep the lot
where crops of corn display.

Tossing in the fearless wind
I watch the tassels shiver.
Rain slices down the sky
From God’s own hand deliver.

Thirsting for the satiable drink
they each stretch forth their arm
Rows upon rows gallantly march
upon the fruitful farm.

All heads seem to bow in prayer
as the rain seeps in the soil,
quenching all things desired
through various days of toil.

The ground was tilled
the seeds have been sown;
Hard labor now rewarded
by what is fully grown.

Never look at an empty field
as if it’s fertilized dirt.
try to see the wondrous beauty
of the corn rows fanning skirt!
