Poetry Sunday ~ Coyotes Call

Coyotes Call

Coyotes are singing their morning call
They’re scampering through the fields.
The chill is biting as the full moon sets
The road they cross to no car yields.

In a pack they huddle around
Seeking food for the long nights haul
Howling murmurs can be heard
The echoes of their maul.

The sun is rising; they run and hide
You hear their cries of morn
They scurry about as light abounds
To sleep as a new day’s born.

John 10:12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.

Would ya like 'em as close as your door? And your trying to get your dog in because she thinks they came to play? lol

LOL--No Joni, I would not like them that close! But I too do like the Coyotes and Wolves. Great poem.

I DON'T like the skunks we get that close either. A few years ago Sierra heard on outside at 2am--I thought she just had to go out. She just wanted to "play" We both got sprayed! Even my classroom stunk for over a month. Whole different smell than what you get just driving by an area.

I love the Coyote's Call at night when all is silent out there, but no, not when they get so close as to think my dog is their toy. lol

Raccoons and skunks are a different story. lol
