HEALTH
The trouble with always trying to preserve the health of the body is that it is so difficult to do without destroying the health of the mind.
~G.K. Chesterton
I reckon being ill as one of the great pleasures of life, provided one is not too ill and is not obliged to work till one is better.
~Samuel Butler, The Way of All Flesh, 1903
The power of love to change bodies is legendary, built into folklore, common sense, and everyday experience. Love moves the flesh, it pushes matter around.... Throughout history, "tender loving care" has uniformly been recognized as a valuable element in healing.

SELF-RESPECT
In my day, we didn't have self-esteem, we had self-respect, and no more of it than we had earned. ~Jane Haddam
I prefer to be true to myself, even at the hazard of incurring the ridicule of others, rather than to be false, and to incur my own abhorrence. ~Frederick Douglass
Self-respect cannot be hunted. It cannot be purchased. It is never for sale. It cannot be fabricated out of public relations. It comes to us when we are alone, in quiet moments, in quiet places, when e suddenly realize that, knowing the good, we have done it; knowing the beautiful, we have served it; knowing the truth we have spoken it.
~Whitney Griswold
Never violate the sacredness of your individual self-respect.
~Theodore Parker
I care not so much what I am to others as what I am to myself. I will be rich by myself, and not by borrowing.
~Michel de Montaigne
If you want to be respected by others the great thing is to respect yourself. Only by that, only by self-respect will you compel others to respect you.
~Fyodor Dostoyevsky

Joni,
I know I haven't been around much--but God is keeping you on my heart and in my prayers--as I know he is doing with me to you.
Know that He has you wrapped in HIS arms and I am also--even when we can't always feel it. I know I struggle sometime to really feel and know that God is holding me through all this--but work hard to continue to believe it--it is people like you praying for me and lifting me up even with your own struggles that keep me remembering--thank you
Tiggs
Thank you, Tigs!
I feel the prayer stirring, even as I struggle to feel my legs, I can always feel the love of the people that God has placed in my life, for a reason!
Know, even though you might not be around much, your prayers are felt!!! Always!
God Bless!!! (((big hugs)))
