Poetry Sunday ~ Fruition

Some things have to be believed to be seen. ~Ralph Hodgson

Fruition
***

Winds of time have swept the fields
in stardust frivolous play.
Green and amber sweep the lot
where crops of corn display.

Tossing in the fearless wind
I watch the tassels shiver.
Rain slices down the sky
From God’s own hand deliver.

Thirsting for the satiable drink
they each stretch forth their arm
Rows upon rows gallantly march
upon the fruitful farm.

All heads seem to bow in prayer
as the rain seeps in the soil,
quenching all things desired
through various days of toil.

The ground was tilled
the seeds have been sown;
Hard labor now rewarded
by what is fully grown.

Never look at an empty field
as if it’s fertilized dirt.
try to see the wondrous beauty
of the corn rows fanning skirt!

It reads almost like prayer for the farmer. :) Nice one, Joni! :)
