Poetry Sunday ~ Autumn Glory

Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.
~Albert Camus

* * *
Autumn Glory

The wonder of life in all the color
with pale blue skies and clouds.
The life of Autumn comes alive
with leaves the lonely shrouds.

Upon the darkened horizon
the landscape and brilliant hue,
the wonder of the empty land
cause trees to take their cue.

They dance and sing in the night
their days are full of flutter;
life it spins a colorful web
with grounds all full of clutter.

I crunch the leaves underfoot
walk in eloquent bliss
The rain it lends aroma
to the earth it gives a kiss.

The quiet season breathes in me
a sight that steals my soul
I long to share His glory,
with those who make me whole!

All praise and Glory to Him!

Poetry Sunday ~ My Father and Servant

Col. 3:15 “And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.”

~My Father~
He strives to walk along the sand
With all his might he takes a stand
Raises up one swift hand
He smites the sea; he smites the land
He cowers not to you or me
Behold his love! Behold his glory!
Turn the page of inner fury
He rises up above the waves
Thrashing down the light that saves
Scanning all the open shore
The beacon shines forevermore
He is my Father strong and pure
The light that sits; awaits his call
Amid the storm to rise and fall
The lighthouse stands strong and tall
To guide one home through it all!

~The Servant ~

Be like children of marvelous wonder,
rise up and hear His call.
Be not fooled by raging thunder,
God has blessed us one and all.

Bow down your ear to hear His word.
Lift your voice in praise
Allow His truth in you be stirred
Put off corrupted lustful ways.

Rejoice in Him who saved your soul
To fellowship be kind
Unity becomes your goal
Then TRUTH is what you’ll find.

Poetry Sunday ~ The Path

Pss. 17:5 Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not.
***
The Path I Take
***
As curious winds dance about
snow lay at my feet
swirling in my mind is doubt
for all the world to meet.

Take my hand and walk me through
the life that has a muddled hue.

Swift soft whispers of the day
spin my life around
stellar are the stars I see
they lift me off the ground.

Hold me now for I am weak
my Father’s face, do I seek.

Step lightly as you pass.
on wilted willow's bough;
Windows open, breath falls in
I’m here amongst you now.

He breathes new life into me
I share for all the world to see.

Poetry Sunday ~ Lil Green Patch

 Ex. 23:20 Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.
***
Lil Green Patch

Where flowers in a field did prance
the moonglow perches ready to dance,
coyotes howl, the elk they call
on the crux of the rising fall.

Spilling over are leaves on the lawn
silently I await the dawn.
Darkness lingers as frost gives rise
I wipe the stardust from the skies.

Little hearts all take a bow;
shooting stars kiss me somehow.
They reach across the open plain
sprinkle down like falling rain.

Drizzled in an earthly show
something grander is here, I know.
Within my mind, I speak to them
give a little of all that I am.

An earthly angel they see in flight
to bear to them a heavenly Light.
The heavens open in a fury
to Him I tend to give all glory.

Awakened now from this dream
everything is, as it would seem.
From the pages I dispatch,
the joy I found in a lil green patch.

Poetry Sunday ~ Seasons in the Sand

Matt. 19: 24 "And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God."

Seasons in the Sand

On wayward sand, I stretch my hand
as frothy water flows
on the solid Rock, I stand
relieved of passing woes.

The seasons of my mind are lit
with every wistful shower.
The Spirit’s here where I sit
to fill my every hour.

 Morning comes He breathes in me
the dawn of a new day.
He gives me sight so I can see
the path I went astray.

On wayward sand, I stretch my hand
granules in my clutch
I'm taken by the wavy band
the grains I dare not touch.

It's much easier for the camel
to pass through the needle's eye
Than you who’s merely mortal
to seek answers in the sky.

The seasons of my mind unfold
His Word for me to preach
As ribbons of the Truth be told
like footprints on the beach.

Poetry Sunday ~ The Voice Of A People

Jer. 17:23 “But they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor receive instruction.”

The Voice of a People

We are a divided nation separated by complexion
Giving different people their own little section
We’ve taken blood and changed the dominant hue
To suit what’s befitting in all that we do.

Changing the prism that reflects joyous light
Cannot be undone because day turns to night
Believers are the ones who bear this burden
To stand as one as all people are hurting

Sharing the Word through love can we change
the hearts of men for hatred we’ll exchange
Caring for people as we plan to take action
The light we emit gives strength to our traction

As your soul grieves, God shoulders the pain
For nations, for men, the living, the slain.
Go into the world, be the difference, the spark
Bring light to a people that dwells in the dark.

Poetry Sunday ~ Never Fear The End

Pss. 30:12  To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.

Never Fear the End

I walk the place I fear to go
Where all men one day travel.
The breath of me hangs on to life
While the other threads unravel.

I press my toes in the snow
No fear for the taste of cold
I tiptoe with the brush of frost
My tongue is tipped with gold.

Rays have reached the horizon
Stretched out in welcome prayer.
I slowly walk to greet them
For the end is hidden there.

I’m bathed in a bastion of beauty
Unveiled is the Light within.
I raise my hands in mercy
Washed away is clinging sin.

I remember all the moments
As they pass before my eyes
Warmth and love surround me
I hear it in their cries.

Every tear becomes a puddle
Of this new life I must swim
Sorrow is then converted
Into a glorious hymn.

My body dripped in sunshine
Not yet for you my friend.
I softly whisper for all to hear
The righteous don’t fear the end.

Poetry Sunday ~ Why... die

Nebraska sky by Adam

Matt.  26:35 “Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.”

I don’t wanna die
don’t wanna cry
I want to live
I don’t know why…

I’m in a world
Fingers curled
Words hurled
Clouds unfurled

On a throne
I call my own
Never sown
Always shown

Fluttering mind
Winds unkind
Hard to find
Soul entwined

Button eyes
Starry skies
Sudden cries
Then she dies

Poetry Sunday ~ Seasons Change

Ecc. 3: 1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

Seasons Change

Crippled leaves cross the field
Wispy winds stir by
Gone is heat from raging sun
Winter’s frost draws nigh.

Trees are green, orange and yellow
Progression has begun
Seasons melt a new one reigns
With the setting of the sun.

Combines wipe the farmland clean
The cows are sent to the meadow
Trees they weep their leaves are gone
Harvesters reap what they sow.

Clouds they form a serpentine flower
Displays of a heavenly hue.
Blue erupts from the gray
The angel’s seasonal stew.

Sprouting ceases as summer ends
Russet rests on the floor.
Pearly white will welcome the season
Salting the ground once more.

Poetry Sunday ~ If

If

if on scorched land i fall

will someone carry me through

will i find relief  through it all

parched lips will cease to be new.

if on the flaming fire

i search for seeping rain

will someone see the mire

and save me from the pain

if on knees I crawl

can you come to clear my mind

while all along i maul

i seek but cannot find

if all alone i fail

to the Lord i will confide.

on the seas i sail

He will be my guide.

Poetry Sunday ~ Cleansing

Cleansing

I feel a peace wash over me
as snow falls from the sky.
Each flake falls down all around
like my God beginning to cry.

One by one His sorrow mounts
the drifts are formed by wind
Cleansing all my spirit
for that which I have sinned.

He blankets my soul as the fields
in warmth His arms surround.
A little wayward shepherd
who was lost and now is found.

I gather all the wandering sheep
mere shadows in the dark.
A shower of unconditional love,
igniting their inner spark.

A soul absolved of impurities
the snow now turns to rain
Restoring you to innocence
now freed from all your pain.

Poetry Sunday ~ Is Nothing Sacred ~ Tears

Pss. 126:5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

 Is Nothing Sacred
***
While walking down the streets alone,
I take in all the sights.
My how life has changed and grown
All is vain in lights.

Where is respect for ones self worth
Where is inner love?
Where has chastity gone from birth?
Closed is the door above.

We force upon their innocence
All vanity which is false.
Lending them free preference,
Betrayal with a pulse.

Children want to be all grown up
Exposing all their skin,
Losing purity the youthful cup,
For pathways led by sin.

No one holds a key to his soul,
In ashes shall they fall?
Never once will they feel whole,
When the reaper makes his call.
*  *  *
Tears

Like icy clouds that form in the sky,
drops of pain creep from my eye.
Weightless they form a fluid stream;
life has forced a layered seam.

Tears are like capsules, of liquid release.
Hidden by lids they secretly cease.
The eye a doorway of repressed emotion
that drops a brew of poisoned potion.

Salty tears run evermore
softly sounds pound the floor.
Dripping echoes of seated pain;
seeping slowly a fluid rain.

The tear is weightless in its stand.
Lapping forth like waves on sand.
Going alone down the wrinkled aisle,
seeking to ride the sorrowful mile.

What will stop this rippling river?
Depths of joy I must deliver.
I raise my eyes to the skies above,
my tears become His kiss of love.

Poetry Sunday ~ Standing Strong through the Storm

Standing Strong through the Storm
***
The waves in life crash all around
I fall to my knees onto the ground
The Lord my God He keeps me warm
Standing strong through the storm.

I feel I walk in sinking sand
Judged for things in which I stand.
The waves they gush without a form
Standing strong through the storm.

I raise my head so I can be
A future bright for all to see.
A woman that shall not conform,
Standing strong through the storm.

I’m in a world where many sleep
A shepherds light for all lost sheep.
Before you you’ll see a woman transform
Standing strong through the storm.

My footprints I will leave behind
Fully sighted no longer blind.
The Lord my God will keep me warm,
Standing strong through the storm.

Poetry Sunday

Live to Die

Born of this world
we are doomed to try,
Doomed to live
but freed we die.

Life speeds by
no time to slow
The mind is often
not allowed to grow.

Smell the flowers
breathe the air,
Slow the motion
of life with care.

Beauty in sunsets
the rising moon.
Cherish it all
it ends too soon.

* * * *

Our Earthly Duty

My mind spins a column of webs
in this clouded world we live.
Worldly possessions of wants
never outsource what we give.

I feel I’m alone in pursuit
of wanting to see it end.
Wars, fires and poverty
bureaucracy unwilling to bend.

Changing it all for the better
a haunting daunting task.
One by one we succumb
shedding our outer mask.

Now is the time to rise above;
take aim at our earthly duty.
Each man on his own mission
to share the wealth of beauty!

Poetry Sunday ~ Bough Breaks

Ezek. 15:2 Son of man, What is the vine tree more than any tree, or than a branch which is among the trees of the forest?

Bough Breaks
*  *  *
Snowdrifts pile on the tree,
a morning of beauty for eye to see.
Branches bow in prayer to Him
whiteness clings to every limb.

Boughs moan with the slightest breeze,
broken down in the slightest sneeze.
A whispering wind the twig it grieves,
breaking the sprig that has no leaves.

Lonely and cold the cows they roam
in the open field they call home.
No shelter from the bended wings,
I hear them calling, the morning sings.

The broken branch I see it bleed,
giving earth its one last seed.
Hear me Lord, my earthly cries,
fill my heart with joyous skies.

For all that’s broken, now must mend.
my heart, my soul made to bend.
For only you gives all that’s real,
The earth and I will slowly heal.

Poetry Sunday ~ A New Year

Pss. 51: 10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

A New Year
***
The New Year comes in a cool swift wind
Time for change in the hearts of men
Trees are bent some boughs are pinned
Seasonal snow once again.

The tides of change, a raging sea
Tossed me about this year of need
All my friends heard my plea
Reached out to me in blessed deed.

With twists and turns the year gave rise
Silent echoes stirred the night
Stars they dripped from the skies
An answer to, my inner plight.

My soul made whole by years end
The stormy sea now rests.
A new day unfolds, my body to mend
I embrace the new years quests!
***
Isa. 40: 31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Rom. 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Poetry Sunday ~ The Road

Phil. 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

The Road
***
The road is blemished in an odd way
it started with my waking day.
A pebble here, small stone there
tossed about without a care.

My road is darkened, often bleak
I wander the path for all I seek.
Purged from innocent winds I fly
longing to know the reasons why.

Throw in the towel and give it all up
am I worthy to drink from His cup?
He kissed my head, held my hand
gave me strength for which to stand.

The path was lit in a rainbows flare
my eyes soon saw possibilities there.
All from me or blessings from Him,
the road now bright no longer dim.

Sometimes we see no light to guide
False truths, mistrusts we long to hide.
Inner peace is not from this world
nor in agenda of a flag unfurled.

Struggles are often the seeds of growth
I am full owner of them both.
As I stand and knock at pains door
a blossoming blessing rocks my core.

It’s not about our physical sight
that gives us all the will to fight.
Simply put it’s how you revere love,
as muddy waters or a snow-white dove.

I give it my all in withering strife,
the road less traveled becomes my life.
It’s not the road, in which you travel,
It’s that which you sow in rich soil or gravel.

Poetry Sunday ~ Together on a Journey

“The only journey is the one within.”
~ Rainer Maria Rilke
***
Together on a Journey
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We’ve weathered many storms
rode the raging seas
Together on a journey,
that brought us to our knees.
Sometimes we had a full sail
at times we drifted away;
times we wanted to turn back,
to the sea we gave no sway.
Enduring callous crashing waves
that tossed us to and fro,
Together on a journey
one which we didn’t know.
Light shone round about us
a beacon to behold.
It guided us to safer shores
if all the truth be told.
Forging ahead to safer shores
where heart and soul can mend.
Together on a journey,
to which there is no end.
Poetry Sunday ~ I'm Thankful...
Pss. 19:8 The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes.
***
I’m thankful….
I’m thankful for that one warm ray,
That shines on me to lighten my day.
I’m thankful for the dewy grass
That tickles my toes as I pass.
I’m thankful for the fragrant air,
That wafts on by without a care.
I’m thankful for the torrents of rain
That soaks my skin; releases my pain.
I’m thankful for the budding flower.
That blooms in glory, a scented shower.
I’m thankful for every timeless season,
new bark; new bough with endless reason.
I’m thankful for all the joyful bliss,
that graces my cheek as a gentle kiss.
I’m thankful for being allowed too touch,
that one lost soul whom needs so much.
I’m thankful for every little thing,
that has no worth, but smiles they bring.
I’m thankful for the minuscule,
for that is where my soul can rule.
I’m thankful for all my eyes can see,
breathless beauty from God to me.
I’m thankful for all of this and more,
The love of life, the chance to soar!
Poetry Sunday ~ Mighty Oak
Mighty Oak
They tried their best to take me down
with nails like claws they wore a frown.
Gnashing, taunting, pawing at me
why won’t they just let me be?
With all my might I stood strong
like the Oak who has lived so long.
Weathering any kind of storm
branching out for new life’s form.
The tree goes through a dormant season
fulfilling life with rhyme and reason.
Bursting forth with fancy flair,
the mighty Oak's still standing there.
They tried so hard with no success,
they now are lost in worthlessness.
Karma goes round the weak and cruel
like a pattern fired with fuel.
Be kind to one who is tried and true
Blessings will come back to you.
But do not seek to weaken the oak,
You’ll soon find out, it’s you who choke!
