Poetry Sunday ~ Time is Short

John 16:32 "Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me."

Time is Short...

Time is so short life is so sweet
There is no reason to repost a repeat
Over and over the same old stink
Missing kids, adults, dogs on the brink.

Political banter of who’s right and wrong
Hatred spread for far too long.
Claiming to love country and fellow man
Proudly boasting from where you stand.

I sometimes look and feel great shame
There’s no sign of God and love you claim
The social realm is for you to stand tall
Making life look like you have it all.

Why not spread truth, a message convey
Not the sinister life of a hypocrites day
God has a story for you to share
If only you’d take the time to care

Time is so short and life is so sweet
Nature subdued and health incomplete
The media has blurred the beauty within
Whitewashed all truth and amplified sin.

Poetry Sunday ~ Angry Winds

Matthew 15:14 "And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a ditch."

Angry Winds

Fierce winds churned
the chimes banged to life
a cradle bough broke
the day with a knife.

The sleeping ground numb
while trees bent their head
discourse erupted
waking the dead

Warped weather crawling
weeping night whispered still
           the moonlight dangling
an intense hardened chill

Lamppost dispersed
a feathered night sky
angry winds churned
a soft lullaby

Goodnight sleeping beauty
awake in the morn
daybreak is dawning
a new life reborn

Ecc. 3:3 “A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;”

I need a break!

Poetry Sunday ~ Autumn Glory

Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.
~Albert Camus

* * *
Autumn Glory

The wonder of life in all the color
with pale blue skies and clouds.
The life of Autumn comes alive
with leaves the lonely shrouds.

Upon the darkened horizon
the landscape and brilliant hue,
the wonder of the empty land
cause trees to take their cue.

They dance and sing in the night
their days are full of flutter;
life it spins a colorful web
with grounds all full of clutter.

I crunch the leaves underfoot
walk in eloquent bliss
The rain it lends aroma
to the earth it gives a kiss.

The quiet season breathes in me
a sight that steals my soul
I long to share His glory,
with those who make me whole!

All praise and Glory to Him!

Poetry Sunday ~ Destiny

Job 30:18 “By the great force of my disease is my garment changed: it bindeth me about as the collar of my coat.”

Destiny

I had a taste
Of a blissful life
Upon my face in
This wondrous place

I had a chance
For the ultimate
Stance with a
Whimsical romance

I had a choice
The silent whisper
Of a voice, too soft
To hear through noise

I had a dream
So it would seem
Took to the sky
On a radiant moonbeam

Where are the years
I can never get back
I’m losing track
fell through a crack

Tomorrow climbs
The ladder it finds
Shards of glass
Through changing times

It was meant to be
My destiny
A part of me all I see
Fly away on wings so free

Poetry Sunday ~ The Soul's Descent

Gen. 28:12 "And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it."

The Souls Descent
***
Plummeting downward I watched it fall;
the deep abyss the shadowed wall.
Gripped by pain and tidal emotion;
wrought with fear an inner devotion.

In this fissure of my being,
analyzing all I'm seeing.
The foulness of vengeance lurks throughout,
seeds of hatred sprinkled about.

Where once there lay a fluent stream,
drought and hunger fuse a team.
Lust it lingers in this pit,
I try to flee...but here I sit.

Liquid anger claws at me,
my very essence squints to see.
Howls and screams ~~ a wailing sound.
crimson walls melting 'round.

Fires racing torments edge;
keeping me from realities ledge.
I struggle within this master's plane,
as wilted red walls fall down like rain.

My soul has found a resting place,
torrents of tears streaming down my face.
Trickling along like glistening sand,
I hold my pain in the palm of my hand.

Rom. 10:7 "Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)"

Poetry Sunday ~ On a Monday ~ Tear Catcher

Job 16:20 “My friends scorn me: but mine eye poureth out tears unto God.”

Tear Catcher

I feel the doubts like shouts
lingering in my soul.
not from within but without
are ones that play a role.

I cannot find a protocol
that keeps this ill at bay
I cannot bear all the words
that people never say.

Taunted with their falsity
the fake façade they feel
their glazed over face says one thing
while the mind will whisper what’s real.

Tissues fill the trashcan
with tears that I’d cast down
tripping on my own thoughts
as a smile turns to a frown.

Dear God as you walk with me
along the storm-filled path
allow in me a peace unknown
Release this inner wrath.

Pss. 6:6 “I am weary with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears.”

Poetry Sunday ~ The Voice of the People

Jer. 17:23 “But they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor receive instruction.”

The Voice of a People

We are a divided nation separated by complexion
Giving different people their own little section
We’ve taken blood and changed the dominant hue
To suit what’s befitting in all that we do.

Changing the prism that reflects joyous light
Cannot be undone because day turns to night
Believers are the ones who bear this burden
To stand as one as all people are hurting

Sharing the Word through love can we change
the hearts of men for hatred we’ll exchange
Caring for people as we plan to take action
The light we emit gives strength to our traction

As your soul grieves God shoulders the pain
For nations, for men, the living, the slain.
Go into the world, be the difference, the spark
Bring light to a people that dwells in the dark.

Poetry Sunday ~ Autumn Trees

Pss. 96:12 “Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice.”

Autumn Trees

Flaming fire of autumn trees
Lights the sky with ample ease
Flowing like a river stream
Catches on the sunrise beam

The open orange of autumn trees
Catches light on mornings breeze
Drifting down with somber sound
Leaves now whimper on the ground

Amber glow of autumn trees
Whispers sounds of rolling seas
Brilliant hint of heavens door
Hues abound of winters lure

Radiant red on autumn trees
Winter waits with summer tease
Vibrant color mornings gold
Frost unveils the seasons cold

Poetry Sunday ~ Lil Green Patch

 Ex. 23:20 Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.
***
Lil Green Patch

Where flowers in a field did prance
the moonglow perches ready to dance,
coyotes howl, the elk they call
on the crux of the rising fall.

Spilling over are leaves on the lawn
silently I await the dawn.
Darkness lingers as frost gives rise
I wipe the stardust from the skies.

Little hearts all take a bow;
shooting stars kiss me somehow.
They reach across the open plain
sprinkle down like falling rain.

Drizzled in an earthly show
something grander is here, I know.
Within my mind, I speak to them
give a little of all that I am.

An earthly angel they see in flight
to bear to them a heavenly Light.
The heavens open in a fury
to Him I tend to give all glory.

Awakened now from this dream
everything is, as it would seem.
From the pages I dispatch,
the joy I found in a lil green patch.

Poetry Sunday ~ My Talent

Matt. 25:15 “And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.”

* ~ * My Talent * ~ *

God asked me to use the talents
That He has blessed me with
The sharing of the Word I hear
The truth and not a myth.

I sent the Word into the world
A message delivered to me
It was a ripple on the lake
For all the world to see.

The words they entered in my ear
And out of my fingers bled
My gift of writing words to you
Is where my soul was led.

God was pleased when he saw
My talent not gone to waste
The gentle words about His Son
I fed the world a taste.

Some people sit idly by
Saving earthly treasures
Their talents, gifts and so much more
With all their worldly pleasures.

Rise up you sleeping people
For the new world that awaits
The life that’s left behind you
As you enter heaven’s gates.

Matt. 25:23 “His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”

Poetry Sunday ~ Never Fear The End

Pss. 30:12  To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.

Never Fear the End

I walk the place I fear to go
Where all men one day travel.
The breath of me hangs on to life
While the other threads unravel.

I press my toes in the snow
No fear for the taste of cold
I tiptoe with the brush of frost
My tongue is tipped with gold.

Rays have reached the horizon
Stretched out in welcome prayer.
I slowly walk to greet them
For the end is hidden there.

I’m bathed in a bastion of beauty
Unveiled is the Light within.
I raise my hands in mercy
Washed away is clinging sin.

I remember all the moments
As they pass before my eyes
Warmth and love surround me
I hear it in their cries.

Every tear becomes a puddle
Of this new life I must swim
Sorrow is then converted
Into a glorious hymn.

My body dripped in sunshine
Not yet for you my friend.
I softly whisper for all to hear
The righteous don’t fear the end.

Like A Flowing River

Like a Flowing River
*   *   *
My love is never-ending
My prayers they never cease
Like a flowing river
My God He gives me peace.

My mind is full of His word
My actions do resound
Like a flowing river
To Him my prayer is bound.

My soul is ever present
In all things that I do.
Like a flowing river
Through Him my essence grew.

My heart is steeped in His hands
My weakness evident.
Like a flowing river
He cleanses discontent.

My body begs for mercy
All sin to wash away.
Like a flowing river
I’m new with every day.

Pss. 19: 7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

Poetry Sunday ~ The Wanderer

2 Chron. 36: 16 But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy.

Wanderer
***

The leaves are turning yellow,
the sky a flowing gray.
the days are getting shorter
I awake to embrace the day.

My days are all spent longing
for the journey I must take
the one where God calls me home
where I no longer have to ache.

Shallow minds are walking
like zombies in the field.
knowing not the truth in life
or the hurting acts they yield.

My God is not on TV
or in my computer screen,
He doesn’t live in radio
or a picture perfect scene.

He cannot be tossed around
spewed forth on a whim.
Not one to be mocked lightly
He demands all praise to Him.

The Lord my God is cradled
deep within my soul
giving sight to all my world
I’m now all warm and whole.

Job 21: 3 Suffer me that I may speak; and after that I have spoken, mock on.

Poetry Sunday ~ The Step

2 Sam. 22: 37 Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.

The Step

When we’re born of this world
We took steps as we grew
A journey called life
And days we’d pass through.

Without a step forward
Our lives seemed marred
A struggle to bear;
Each movement too hard.

A step is a cushion
That cradles your feet
A welcoming home
Of each day that we greet.

No steps in place,
No ladder to climb.
A hindered life
No reason, no rhyme.

God gave us steps
To comfort our walk
To Him we turn
We bow to talk.

Thank you Lord
For the steps that you lay.
My pain is now eased
To you I do pray.

Pss. 37: 31 The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.

Thank you Steven, for building that one step that relieved so much pain in my back!!!

Poetry Sunday ~~

On The Mend

Often times I felt reclusive
My wandering thoughts very elusive
I needed something, a zest to live
I wax poetic, my heart I give

In my vocal words you'll see,
A glimpse of light shine forth from me
I see a ray shine from the moon
Dancing crystals my soul to commune

Wading in fragrance, I want to smell
Behold a beauty my heart to quell
Tis' not a negative light I seek
The glory I find in the quiet meek

My soul is dancing as moonbeams glare
A sigh of relief, I breathe the air
Inhale all that life has to lend
My soul now finds a way to mend
~~~~~~~
Tidal Flow
Parted lips like parted sea,
The frothy crest calls out to me.
Singing praise of haunting lure,
Thrashing on the tidal shore.
Words I speak, no one will listen.
Thrust upon the sand to glisten.
Washed out to a vacant throne,
Here I stand on the beach alone.
Silhouette by moonbeams glow.
Stars that dance in a rapid show.
Addled by the echo within,
Silent tone, a barren bin.
Bitter salt rings on my lips,
Throes of pain at my fingertips.
Casting out the abysmal stand,
The soul of me clutched in my hand.
A parody of life’s own quest.
Stretched on sand as sea-foams guest.
Alone am I in the ethereal night,
A simple grain amid the flight.
Life abounds, the mystery awaits.
I sit astride the wavy gates.
Grasping all that I have been shown,
Muted now the truth is my own.
Poetry Sunday ~ The Tree of Life
Gen. 1: 20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
***
Tree of Life
In the vision of my eyes,
I see the world in a disguise
playing with the human emotion
like a child without a notion.
I scan the open field of dreams
everything clearer than it seems.
Wandering round in an enlightened state,
hoping my words don’t come to late.
Can you feel the life of you
within the world of confusion too?
Upon the doorway of mystical bliss
there is a lot I feel I miss.
The trees they prosper with each season,
some are wounded with good reason.
Getting stronger from each storm
within each branch about to form.
Life it takes us for a spin;
seasons strengthen us to win.
This world is one we all must commune
lets play our lives in an angelic tune.
Sin will compromise our feat
sacrifice is our only mete.
When we serve the One who is True,
the tree of life will flow through you.
Poetry Sunday ~ Emergence
Lev. 26:4 Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
***
Emergence
(c) Joni Zipp
***
What’s this I see beneath the snow
ever so green and lush
stately blades of grass I glimpse
with sun-dripped grains of blush
The buds are beginning to burst
right forth from branches bare.
Soon will be an abundance of leaves
with twigs and arms to spare.
The fields are dancing with life right now
the squirrels they run and play.
Scampering about from tree to tree,
enjoying the expanded day.
Approaching are the winds of Spring,
the season will emerge.
The final day of death occurs
when mind and soul converge.
Poetry Sunday ~ Fate
Fate
Crescent moon
fell too soon.
Liquid beam,
moonlight's stream.
Only seen in midnight's dream.
Blissful love,
morning's dove.
All thought of,
from up above.
Rays sent down, without a sound.
Sanctioned here,
never clear.
Crippled tear,
always near.
All I crave, all I gave.
Lift me somehow,
raise my brow.
Forever now,
made to bow.
Heavens gate, my looming fate.
